Update: Installation of New Water Main, Services, and Hydrants
Dear Monmouth Association Water Customers;
We are pleased to inform you that work to install a new water main, customer service lines, and
fire hydrants is nearing completion. This important project is part of our ongoing effort to
improve water quality, increase system reliability, and enhance fire protection throughout the
community. As noted in prior communications the original system was installed in the 1960’s.
Project Details:
• Scope of Work: Installation of new water main piping, replacement/connection of
customer service lines, and new fire hydrants.
• Timeline: The project was started in late 2024, and planned to be completed in 2025,
depending upon weather. As of this date, there are approximately 30 (short side and long
side) service connections remain and approximately 5 hydrants.
Landscaping will be completed in the spring of 2026. Some residual paving may have to
be completed in 2026 depending upon weather. The hot top plants close thanksgiving
week for the year..
• Work Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The contractor is planning to
work some Saturdays this fall.
• Contractor: Ranger Construction Corporation.
What to Expect:
• Construction activity in the roadway or shoulder areas.• Possible brief interruptions to water service while connections are made. Affected
customers will be notified in advance of any planned service disruptions.
• Occasional traffic detours or lane restrictions. We ask for your patience and caution
when traveling through work zones.
Benefits of the Project:
• Improved water pressure and flow.
• Enhanced fire protection through strategically located new hydrants.
• Modernized infrastructure to reduce leaks and service interruptions.
We appreciate your cooperation as we complete these upgrades to ensure a safe and reliable
water system for years to come.
If you have any questions, please contact Dan Wells P.E. at Winthrop Utilities District or the
Monmouth Association Directors.
Sincerely,
Monmouth Association Directors
