Conservation Commission

The MA Envirothon team is assisting forester Harold Burnett with a health inventory of street trees in downtown areas of Monmouth and North Monmouth.  The Monmouth Conservation Commission (CC) worked with Monmouth's Economic Development Committee to secure a 2015 Project Canopy grant from the U.S. Forest Service to help pay for this project.  

Conservation Commissions are State of Maine sanctioned organizations that advise Municipalities and Select Boards.  The Monmouth CC was formed in October of 2013, an initiative of the Planning Board and the Town's Comprehensive Plan.  It is an appointed commission, consisting of 5 members.
